On 22 May 2015, Foxes revealed the name of the single via Twitter.^[1] A few hours later, she tweeted a picture of herself wearing roller skates while sitting on top of a kitchen counter, with the title of the song appearing as a hashtag.^[2] On 25 May, she posted images from the song's music video shoot.^[3]

On 2 June, she tweeted "Body Talk"'s cover artwork.^[4] The next day, she announced that she would perform the song on BBC Radio 1 on 4 June.^[5] Ten minutes prior to her performance, she tweeted for her followers to tune in.^[6] That same day, the song was made available for pre-order on iTunes^[7] and the audio was posted onto YouTube.^[8] On 17 June, Foxes tweeted of herself doing yoga in the car, with "Body Talk"'s title appearing again as a hashtag.^[9] On 20 June, she tweeted that the music video for "Body Talk" would be released on 23 June.^[10] In keeping with her promise, the video was released three days after the post.

On 4 July, Foxes announced that she would perform "Body Talk" on BBC Radio 2 that day, along with a mystery cover^[11]. She posted a flashback to recording the song in the studio four days later^[12]. On 8 July, she performed the song live on Periscope^[13]. Foxes announced the next day that she'd be teaming up with Google UK to hold a "Body Talk" party^[14]. On 10 July, she tweeted that "Body Talk" would be out in two weeks and joked that her eyebrows still existed^[15]. On 13 July, she posted a collage of alphabet soup noodles spelling out the song's title^[16]. Foxes had interviews about the song on 14 July^[17]. On 21 July, she performed a BBC Radio 1 live lounge, where she sang "Body Talk" and covered Ed Sheeran's "Photograph"^[18]^[19]. Foxes' aforementioned "Body Talk" party was held on 24 July^[20], the day of the song's release. Prior to the party, she had a Google+ hangout with fans^[21]. On 26 July, she performed the song on Sunday Brunch^[22]. The next day, she announced that she'd be going back on tour to promote the song and her second album^[23].
